You > Your Inbox

Here's where you can start if you don't know where to start.

If you’re thinking ‘I don't know where to start, my inbox is killing me’. This is for you.

Okay. Deep breaths. We'll get through this in two steps.

Step 1. Create a folder within your inbox and title it 'old'.

Step 2. Highlight all your emails more than a week old and move it into this folder.

That will leave you with the most recent emails that you need to address, which hopefully are more manageable.

I know you're thinking, 'but what if there's something important I need to do in those emails?'. Well, if it's important, whoever sent them to you will follow up. 90% of the time people will forget the emails they send and never follow up. Why? Because very few things are actually important.

Put your insecurity aside and try this out, be ruthless with your time. That's the only way you actually free up time for your team. The more things you say 'yes' to, the less time you have to do things that really matter.
