Why Having A Clear Vision Leads to Progress

1 minute read

It feels like the real deal.

I’ve heard this so many times now from successful people. My mentor said this. A few books I’ve read said this. It comes up a lot in podcasts. And now — The Terminator is telling me to have a clear vision.

The only difference is, he’s saying it in a cool, thick, Austrian accent.

“That is what a clear vision gives you. A way to decipher whether a decision is good or bad for you, based on whether it gets you closer of further away from where you want to go in life.

“Does the picture of you in your mind get blurrier or sharper because of the thing you’re about to do?”

It’s so simple when he puts it that way.

It just sets your internal compass. You’re programming your subconscious to keep you in line. It’s actually genius.

Worth repeating: does the picture in your mind get blurrier or sharper because of the thing you’re about to do?

Do you picture yourself with 6-pack abs in the future?

Eating the packet of M&M’s will make that vision blurry. Going to the gym will make it sharper.

Do you picture yourself being a millionaire in the future?

Great. Playing video games or binging Netflix won’t help. Working on your business or your career might.

Does the vision of having a loving family appeal to you?

Great — do the things that make that picture sharper for you in your mind. Do one more thing that gets you closer.

Pretend to read this like Arnold is reading it to you:

Is the picture in your mind get blurrier or sharper because of the thing you’re about to do?

Arnold is watching you.

It’s from his new book — Be Useful.

It’s proving to be useful so far. If you pay for Spotify, you can listen to it there for ‘free’.
